Ron Feaker, reflecting on his visit to some Botannical Gardens, in which paths led in every direction, affirmed that some decisions we make in our lives can have long range consequences. If we make choices in which our ultimate paths lead to Christ, basing our decisions on God’s Word we make wise decisions, ensuring that we become lively stones in God’s Temple, attached to Christ, the Corner Stone. We must focus on eternal spiritual realities rather than the temporary fleeting physical characteristics of this world. God has called us out of this world giving us His Spirit; do we think about God and how He is leading us. In the story of the two sets of footprints that turned into one set of footprints, we learn that when we see a single set of footprints, it represents the times God metaphorically carried us on His shoulder. As our forbears commenced on the Exodus, they murmured and complained, most cutting short their destination to the Promised Land, depite the pillar of fire and cloud, the parting of the Red Sea, let alone the life-saving miracle of Passover, the event which changed Pharoah’s heart. The miracle of Pentecost gives us the power to walk on our spiritual journey, realizing that God is with us every step of the way.
