Dave Havir, reflecting on the promise of Jesus Christ’s first coming, suggests that God the Father was very meticulous about His preparations for the birth of His Son, as seen in the prophecies of Isaiah to Gabriel’s visitation to the Virgin Mary announcing that she would give birth to the Son of God. As miraculous and spellbinding was the first coming of Christ, the power of His second coming will take place with greater magnitude, a time when horrible catastrophe, attended with considerable spiritual slumber and deception, will be replaced by the coming of God’s Kingdom. After having connected to God in prayer, we need to edify and comfort one another.
