DW Roe, acknowledging that the Feast of Tabernacles has many facets, focuses on the Feast as shelter or protection from the sun or elements (Leviticus 23:43). This shelter symbolizes God’s miraculous protection or shelter in the midst of transition, as typified by the cloud and pillar of fire which accompanied our forebears to the Promised Land, indicating that God will dwell with and shelter His people, protecting them from stormy trials.
