David Fisher, giving the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results, as well as citing Booker T. Washington’s measure of success by the obstacles one has successfully overcome, talks about a quest he made to uncover deficits or spiritual blind-spots in his character in order to perform a spiritual tune-up. It is difficult for us to do this task individually, but we might need the help of others along with the Scriptures (especially the Proverbs) to serve as a revealing mirror. We need to couple our education with action, developing short and long term goals, plotting a life time course having multi-generational goals, learning from mentors, edifying others, being mentors to the next generation, meeting their emotional needs and filling their emotional love tanks.
