Stan West, observing that although we go through some memorable and even some exhilarating times in this life, we have enough ups and downs to long for the joy, fulfillment, happiness, and permanence of eternal life. We do not know for sure what is on the other side, but we have hope and faith, unlike those who believe in evolution or some other materialistic theory. The “other side” contains hope, anticipation, and eternal life for those who have been called by God, but fear, terror, and eternal death for those who have rejected God. If we adhere to Christ and His teaching about our calling and the resurrection, we have continuous hope in our future. We need to comfort one another with these words.
