Stan West - Strength

Stan West, reflecting on the Bible’s emphasis on strength, identifies some physical, mental, military, economic, and most significantly spiritual strength. God gave physical strength to Samson and victories to the armies of Israel. God’s holy days depict God’s allocation of strength to His called-out ones as they are resurrected as first fruits (overcoming the strength of sin or the death penalty of the law) to administer His millennial kingdom. Attempting to gain strength unlawfully (as athletes using steroids) indicates weakness. Strong families and strong neighborhoods enable people to share strength with one another. When a nation compromises the laws of God, it loses strength. The fruits of God’s Holy Spirit, displayed in every one of God’s holy days, contain the source of strength or of spiritual performance-enhancing characteristics. Even we see the end of sin and death and experience eternal life, we will have plenty to rejoice about, having received spiritual performance-enhancing characteristics to last forever.
