Dennis Mouland, cuing in on John 1:1-3 which identifies the Logos, the One who instituted the creation and who later became Jesus Christ, marvels at the diminutive status of man in comparison to the plenum of creation. God designed the plans for mankind’s unique role in creation before the foundation of the world, as well as the choice of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, and their descendants as a prosperous, model nation. God has total sovereignty of His creation. We can see the complex structure and understand the underlying hidden power in the physical creation. God may have prepared the myriad tropical plant and animal life for Jacob in order that his descendents may have control of the world’s oil reserves in the end time. Fossil fuels enabled the immense prosperity of Jacob’s descendents. The Bakken oil deposit in Montana and North Dakota has proven larger than all the petroleum reserves of the Middle East combined, but remains untouched because of godless administrators who worship the creation rather than the Creator. These environmentalists forget that creation (including the ‘endangered’ species like the Snail Darter and the Spotted Owl) was made for humans and their comfort. To value the environment over humankind is to make an idol of it. Jacob’s dinosaurs are just one tiny aspect of God’s providence to Jacob’s descendants as well as the rest of mankind.
