Ron Feaker - Our Broken Land

Ron Feaker, reflecting on God’s command to Adam and mankind in general to dress and keep the earth, suggests that the leaders, as well as the citizenry of the world’s governments, have failed miserably in this task of stewardship over water resources in both the physical and spiritual dimensions. When we realize that God’s Holy Spirit symbolically resembles reservoirs of living water, we as Christians have failed to build and maintain adequate cisterns to store this precious resource. God’s word conveys this life saving resource to us, but we fail to store it properly, allowing it to seep out by neglect and carelessness, rejecting and forsaking God in the process. Because our country has rejected God, we have received a series of kings who have no regard for God’s truth, seeking to forcibly detach this country from its moral foundations. Religious leaders have in turn abandoned the knowledge and teachings of God. We are commanded to seek the Kingdom of God, the Holy City of the Heavenly Jerusalem, and the rivers of living and healing waters which symbolize God’s Holy Spirit. We need to ask God on a daily basis for His life-sustaining Holy Spirit.
