Stan West - Loyalty To The King

Stan West, accenting the theme of loyalty as it applies to the Days of Unleavened Bread and as it applies to God Almighty, suggests that God was loyal to all of His creation even before He created it even though the creation has not always reciprocated this loyalty, as is seen by the examples of Lucifer and Adam and Eve. God was loyal to the patriarchs; the patriarchs reciprocated. Israel did not prove loyal as it sought to emulate the surrounding cultures. Saul failed to follow through on loyalty to God, but David demonstrated his loyalty, including to his predecessor Saul, who often tried to murder him. David had followers who demonstrated intense loyalty to him, treating his desires as commands. Uriah the Hittite demonstrated his loyalty to David, refusing to accept the comforts of home while Israel was at war. Jesus was loyal to His called disciples; they reciprocated by following Him, even though they disappointed Christ on a number of occasions. After receiving God’s Holy Spirit, they affirmed their loyalty by following Him to death. Jesus Christ demonstrated His loyalty to God the Father, even in the midst of agony; God the Father reciprocated by resurrecting and glorifying His Son. We are to remain loyal to Christ as He has journeyed to a far country. The Days of Unleavened Bread and the grace of God which these days depict call for our reciprocation of loyalty.
