Tony Stith insists that after claiming our identity, we must live our identity. The spring holy days not only teach us how to recognize our identity, but also how to live our identity. Knowing who we are helps us to combat the ruler of this world. We need to know that we are God’s children, imitating Him. It’s not what you do that determines who you are, but what you are that determines what you do. If we believe we are slaves, we indeed are slaves. Human nature forces us to maintain our comfortable self image, even if it is destructive to our well-being. If Satan can get us to forget we are God’s children, we are in bondage. Thankfully, we can choose a different way of thinking, if we are renewed in the spirit of our mind, putting on the new man. We can choose to change the perception of who we are, remembering that we are God’s offspring. When we change our perception of our identity, our behavior will change accordingly.
