James Moran - Where The Eyes Go, The Mind Goes

James Moran, reflecting on a recent Hagar the Horrible cartoon, focuses on the theme, “Where the eyes go, the mind goes.” Rather than to yield to fleshly lusts, we should follow the example of Christ, yielding unconditionally to the will of God the Father, living perpetually to righteousness. We are prone to the same kind of lusts as King David as he feasted his eyes on Bath Sheba. Satan tried to bedazzle our Elder Brother with the lust of the eyes. Jesus warned us that sin begins in the mind, empowered by the sensory organs. The Internet makes sexual immorality easier and ‘user friendly.’ Men and women must battle lusts of the mind and must occasionally practice eye avoidance when confronted with lustful stimuli. We must keep our eyes on God and Jesus Christ, giving our spouses special honor, keeping our minds pure and undefiled.
