Bernie Monsalvo, reflecting that fall apparently has arrived, asks us whether we are ready for the Feast. Most of us are looking forward to a change in pace, hoping for greater stability than we experience in our everyday lives. Hopefully some of the dire world events (in weather, economics, or world politics) have not put a crimp in our plans to keep the Feast. To the world, the Feast of Tabernacles seems absurd and bizarre. God's fall harvest of ingathering was a commemoration of the peace and safety provided as a reward for obeying Him. Today most of the world does not obey God, and do not experience peace or security. We need to remember when we prepare to keep the Feast that we are a stranger and a pilgrim on this earth. We should ask God to show us splendid things out of His Law, as He did to David and Ezra, both having diligently prepared themselves to study and learn from God's Law, setting their minds right. If we diligently seek God, we will have pleasure and fullness of joy as He places His Laws deep within the recesses of our minds. At this coming Feast, we need to expect that God will give us new insights we have not had before, renewing our minds with His Spirit, enabling us to let our light shine. Rejoicing is an integral part of the entire Feast of Tabernacles, picturing a time when God will tabernacle with man, and God will be in charge of this world and its activities, as His Government will be re-established on this earth when there will be a restoration of all things.
