| Ron Feaker, focusing on the subject of controlling our thoughts, reminds us that our thoughts, as well as our actions, can and often do constitute sin. God created us in His image with the capacity to think. The spirit in man gives us the power to create and to solve problems. Thoughts that are uncontrolled can lead to sin. We must have thoughts in order to have actions, but evil thoughts will lead to evil deeds. The Psalmist David hated vain thoughts, seeking to replace evil thoughts by meditating on God's Law. The apostle Paul assures us that we can bring every thought into captivity by exercising God's Holy Spirit, controlling and mortifying the flesh, taking one day at a time. We need positive thoughts in our lives which will bring peace and contentment. Exercising the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) will bring this peace.
