Dave Havir, in this second portion of a two part series, focuses on the counterpart of the things God hates, following up with seven things God loves. At the top of the list is a humble outlook, exemplified by Jesus Christ, who emptied His divinity, becoming a human being, taking on the role of a servant, and taking our sins to Himself. When we develop a humble outlook, we esteem others better than ourselves rather than compete with others. God loves when people tell the truth, as Christ did even when it was not popular. God loves when people have compassion on the guilty as Jesus Christ did when he healed people, praying for the guilty and dying for the guilty. God loves a caring heart, as exemplified by Jesus who healed the sick and was often moved to compassion. We can be moved to compassion with our enemies if we learn to feel sorry for them. God loves feet that move swiftly to edification, as exemplified by Jesus Christ's response to the Centurion and to little children. God loves a truthful witness, as exemplified by Jesus Christ, bearing witness to the truth, speaking exactly what His Father had taught Him. God loves people who sow peace and unity, exemplified by Jesus Christ's unifying of Jew and Gentile. We need to, in the words of the apostle Paul, to live peaceably with all people. The true source of unity and peace derives from Jesus Christ, not in the artificial unification of human organizations.
