Reflecting on the publication of a “gender-neutral” version of the New Testament, David Maas asks if God has something against women. When looking at the imagery of God throughout
both the Old and New Testaments, we find that the descriptions of God are just about equally
distributed between masculine and feminine. Genesis 1:27 clearly states that humankind was
made in God’s image- male and female. One of the key reasons for the marriage covenant is
to enable both spouses to learn about the other set of godly traits in which they are deficient.
Manhood and womanhood must transcend into Godhood.
