Ron Feaker, focusing on the topic of time, reminds us that humans and God look at time in different ways. To the Immortal Creator, there is neither beginning nor end to time. We mortal human beings are creatures of time, subject to its constraints. Ecclesiastes teaches us that for humankind there is a time and purpose for every phase of our lives. We cannot hold onto this elusive dimension; it literally slips through our grasp. Those who have been called into God's Church have had many blessings, but even those events move quickly through our lives as we meet our destiny with eternity. We need to cultivate an appreciation for the time we spend forming a relationship with our Heavenly Father, realizing that the proper fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If we keep God's commandments, we demonstrate that we love Him. We need to look past the temporal here and now into the permanent spiritual things. We have only a limited amount of time in this life; it would be well to use it to serve God, searching the scripture for guidance. God controls events and circumstances in the lives of humankind. Eternity is endless, but mortal man is time-bound; there is a measured span of time for the historical events of mankind's tenure to come to a conclusion, as Christ will come back to this earth to swallow up death in victory, to bring suffering to an end, to bring salvation, and to bind Satan. In all our current trials and tests we need to stay close to God, watching and praying continually, following Christ, realizing that God controls all things. The most important thing we can do in this life is to use our time wisely.
